Osokey
Discovery, access and visualisation of subsurface data
Osokey’s solutions, whether they are configured for on-prem or in the cloud, make seismic and subsurface data easie
r to discover, view, understand and share.
Through an intuitive map-based environment, authorised users can navigate a company’s seismic repository geographically, select seismic lines and interact with the associated data and reports; by connecting catalogue information with the actual subsurface data, it helps technical teams make better decisions based on location, geological setting, data quality and business relevance.
We see the benefits of cloud technology and we have developed solutions that are tailored for geoscience data which is typically large, complex and difficult to handle, making it a perfect candidate for cloud-based solutions.
Our solutions are web-based, allowing data and/or
metadata to be accessed anytime and anywhere. We are passionate about keeping our products simple and intuitive to use, enabling everyone to use them without requiring users to install specialist viewing software or depend on conventional data-delivery processes.
Osokey’s solutions have been used by operators and government agencies for over 10 years; we have enabled transformative change, delivered countless improvements with no downtime for maintenance or deployment resulting in a sustainable cloud based subsurface data management solution.
Osokey is now delighted to be entering a new phase as part of the Stratus Alliance.
Osokey within the Stratus Alliance
The Stratus Alliance is an initiative that connects three specialist capabilities:
- Tape Ark provides industrial-scale tape and disk ingestion, automation, logistics and cloud migration.
- Moveout Data provides seismic expertise, data conditioning, quality control and its proprietary Metaseis technology. Review the list of Tape Media Formats and Data Formats.
- Osokey provides automated ingestion, metadata harmonisation, subsurface visualisation and access.
A typical workflow begins with Tape Ark recovering data from physical media. Moveout will then identify, condition, reconcile and quality-control the resulting datasets. Osokey provides the browser-based environment through which authorised users can discover, view and assess their required value adding data. As the access and visualisation partner within the Stratus Alliance, Osokey helps transform migrated and conditioned data into an accessible global subsurface resource. The result is a sustainable, cloud based subsurface data management solution.
Access and visualisation
Traditional catalogues may indicate that a survey or seismic line exists, but they rarely allow users to examine the data immediately.
This creates a gap between finding a catalogue entry and understanding whether the underlying data is complete, relevant or useful. Users may need to request a restore, wait for files to be delivered and load them into specialist software before they can make an informed decision.
Osokey eliminates this delay by combining spatial cataloguing with web-based seismic viewing.
Users can:
- Navigate seismic holdings through a map
- Search for surveys and lines by location
- View seismic data through a web browser
- Understand relationships between surveys and areas of interest
- Evaluate data before transferring large files
- Identify gaps, overlaps and potential duplication
- Capture corporate knowledge spatially
- Make better-informed retention and migration decisions
- This transforms the catalogue from a static administrative record into an interactive view of the organisation’s subsurface data assets.
